Modelling & Design of Biomolecules and Materials

Exploiting high end computing capabilities to the application of theory, modeling and design to determine the effects of manipulating key parameters, to:

  • provide specific solutions for drug design to enable more specific and effective therapeutics e.g. for treatment of cancer,
  • predict optimal material composition and designs of scaffold materials and implantable devices, to modulate the growth and differentiation of cells and tissues on the surface as required for a range of biomedical implants. In some cases, the target is to mimic the topography and chemistry of natural materials, while for other applications, there is a need to target adhesion and proliferation of specific cell types.
