Applications

Intorduction

Typical applications for the Tyndall wireless sensor motes are myriad due to its modular robust construction, large “family” of interconnect sub systems, small size and innovative connection technologies. Typical applications for Ambient Electronics exist.

About the Body, On the Body, and In the Body

About the Body

Miniaturised wireless electronics distributed in the environment can add intelligence to everyday objects allowing humans to interact with their environment to enable Assisted Living, and by utilising appropriate sensor technology wireless sensor networks can be used in the area of Sustainable

On the Body

Utilising miniaturised sensors (e.g. Inertial Measurement Units) embedded in clothing, wireless technologies enable Human Computer Interfacing and motion tracking to enable people to interact with their environment.

In the Body

Highly Specialised miniaturisation techniques enable wireless devices to be used within the human body for diagnostic purposes or to enable direct interfacing (and actuation) of muscles

The Wireless Sensor Networks team at Tyndall are currently working on Application Deployments in the areas of:
