Nitrides Consortium Annual Winter Meeting

The Tyndall National Institute in Cork, Ireland, will host
the annual winter meeting of the UK Nitrides Consortium (www.uknc.org)
on the 12th and 13th of January
2010. The meeting brings together experts from both
academia and industry in the area of semiconductor nitride
materials (AlGaInN) and devices and is a vibrant forum for
discussion of the latest developments in nitride
technology. Topics range from fundamental issues of
nitride growth and materials characterisation to
applications in solid state lighting, visible and near UV
LASERs and power electronics. Researchers from
Ireland
and the
UK
will present recent findings on their research at the
conference and a number of high profile international
speakers will also partake in the event. A full conference

The Microscopical Society of Ireland and the Northern Ireland Biomedical Engineering Society Joint Annual Symposium

The Symposium will be hosted by NIBEC at the UUJ and will take place
on 25-27 August 2010
The Societies endeavour to foster an interest at the biomaterials and life sciences interface and also the practice of microscopy, and provides a forum for academic and technical dialogue in matters relating to microscopy on the entire island of Ireland and beyond.
The Annual Symposium is conducted in a relaxed, semi-formal environment, and proves the ideal platform for students, especially those who have yet to experience a scientific meeting for the first time. |
