What is National Access Programme [NAP]?

Introduction

The institutes' extensive resources are dedicated to advanced research in Microtechnologies, Photonics, Materials and Device Theory. This is a comprehensive state-of-the-art facility valued at €120M which includes: a silicon CMOS processing laboratory; a compound semiconductor, photonics laboratory; a Microsystems fabrication facility. These core facilities are complemented by many characterisation and test laboratories along with expert research and support staff & students. All of the institute's facilities are located on one site in Cork.

The National Access Programme provides researchers in all Irish Universities, Institutes of Technology and Research Institutes with fully funded access to the Tyndall National Institutes' facilities and expertise. Proposals may cover various types of research work, from short projects of 1-day access for analysis to full CMOS process fabrication.
