EU Commissioner for Research, Innovation and Science speaks at Tyndall
During the visit of Ms Máire Geoghegan-Quinn, European Commissioner for Research, Innovation and Science to the Tyndall National Institute, UCC yesterday, two strategic industry partnerships with Covidien and Applied Materials were announced.
Commissioner Geoghegan-Quinn began her visit with a tour of the state-of-the-art facilites at Tyndall and met staff and students, industry and academic partners from Ireland and aborad. A range of technologies were presented to the Commissioner demonstrating the importance of ICT convergence in Health, Communications and Computation, Energy and Environment sectors.
