Dr. Hua Yang
received a B.Eng and M.Sc degrees from School of Materials Science and
Engineering, Wuhan University of Technology, Wuhan, China in 2000 and
2003 respectively, and Ph.D. degree from Institute of Semiconductors,
Chinese Academy of Science, Beijing ,China ,in 2006.
In
September 2006, he joined the Photonics Group, School of Electrical and
electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, as
a Research Fellow, where he worked with Prof. Chin Mee Koy on Low
driving voltage and High power Electronabsorption Modulators and other
high speed integrated devices. In October, 2008, he joined the
Integrated Photonics Group (IPG) at the Tyndall National Institute as a
Postdoctoral Researcher, where he is working with Dr. Frank Peters on
high speed integrated photonic devices.
Since 2000, Hua has been involved in several projects on
optoelectronics, including Traveling wave electroabsorption modulators,
DFB monolithically integrated with EAM module, MMI integrated with EAMs,
and uni-traveling carrier photodiodes as well as high speed packaging.
And He has published many technical papers in refereed international
journals and conferences in photonics area. He has a wide range of
interest in photonics area.
In
his spare time, Hua likes to watch movies, play badminton, and enjoys
music and cooking.
