Nanowires

Nanowires are an emerging class of nanostructures with enormous scientific and technological potential. We're exploring fabrication of nanowires using a range of methods including focused ion beam direct-write, filling of porous templates, field-directed nanocrystal assembly as well as synthesis of nanowires on biological (DNA) templates. Detailed electrical measurements are undertaken to understand charge injection and transport mechanisms in these novel 1D nanostructures.
