Congratulations to Dr Lisa Helen on graduating with her PhD for a thesis entitled "Development of a smart needle integrated with an impedance sensor to determine needle to nerve proximity for nerve blocking (anaesthetic) procedures".

Lisa has been an exceptional PhD student and has won several awards over the course of her studies at Tyndall National Institute, University College Cork. Lisa’s PhD was funded by the Irish Research Council and was a collaboration between Dr Brian O’Donnell, Cork University Hospital and Dr Eric Moore, School of Chemistry and Academic Member, Tyndall National Institute.

Fantastic achievement and well deserved, another PhD graduate joining the UCC alumni community.  Dr Helen is currently working for MSD in Brinny and has an exciting bright career ahead of her as she begins a new chapter in her life.
