As part of Photonics Ireland’s commitment to engaging and collaborating with the international photonic community, an Irish delegation attended the Optics Valley of China International Optoelectronic Exposition and Forum 2016 ( OVC EXPO). This 3 day event was held from the 3rd – 5th November 2016 at the Wuhan International Expo Center in Wuhan, China.
At the Opening Ceremony, Professor Paul Townsend, IPIC Centre Director, presented an overview of photonics in Ireland & Europe with his talk “Driving photonics innovation from the lab to the market: an Irish and European perspective”. As one of the biggest professional Expositions on Optoelectronics in China, with over 40,000 attendees from over 20 countries attending over the duration of the event, the OVC Expo offered a huge opportunity for Photonics Ireland to hold a number of meetings with some of the most prestigious optoelectronics organizations in the world.
