Nominations are invited for the Tyndall Alumnus of the Year Award

Nominations are invited for the Tyndall Alumnus of the Year Award. This award seeks to recognise someone who has worked or studied in Tyndall (and/or NMRC) and who has made a significant contribution relevant to Tyndall. This can include contributions both while working in Tyndall and also contributions made since leaving Tyndall (for example in areas of technology innovation , teaching/academia or in commercial activities).

Nominations should be made by a person familiar with the work of the nominee. Prior agreement of the nominee should be obtained. The nominator should submit a letter of support which should be limited to 500 words, and which overviews the contributions on which the nomination is based. A short CV of the nominee may also be included with the nomination.

Nominations should be submitted by 30 June to katelin.oshea@tyndall.ie, including “Alumnus of the Year nomination” as the email header.

It is planned that the Tyndall Alumnus of the Year Award will be presented at the Tyndall Technology Day, which takes place this year on 24 October at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.  The inaugural Tyndall Alumnus of the Year Award was presented to Prof. Gerry Wrixon in 2017. We are very proud in Tyndall of the substantial contributions that have been made by our alumni over an extended period and look forward that this award will recognise and celebrate their achievement on an ongoing basis.

Inaugural Tyndall Alumnus Award of the Year in 2017 was presented to Prof. Gerry Wrixon by Chairman Eoin O'Driscoll.
