Masters by Research Fellowship in RF acoustic MEMS/PiezoMEMS

DP-14 Masters by Research Fellowship in RF acoustic MEMS/PiezoMEMS

Contract: Full Time/Fixed Term

The Advanced RF Technologies (ART) Group and the PiezoMEMS Group at Tyndall National Institute (TNI) and University College Cork are advertising for a Masters’ by Research position in RF acoustic MEMS/PiezoMEMS for well-qualified and highly-motivated individual that is looking to pursue research in a niche area of research as part of an MS by research study programme at UCC. The post holder will work with researchers on an interdisciplinary and ambitious project and will develop highly-reconfigurable RF filters and front-end components for the next generation of 5G+ communication systems. The project will use, as a basis, Tyndall’s in-house piezoMEMS microfabrication platform. The post-holder is expected to design, simulate and characterize RF MEMS devices. The post-holder may also need to be involved in  microfabrication in the process and cleanroom facility of Tyndall National Institute.

The position will be accompanied by a fellowship to pursue an MS by research degree. The initial contract will be made for 24 months. Furthermore, the fellowship may also be extended to pursue a PhD degree upon successful completion of the MS by research degree.

The successful candidate will become a member of a diverse and vibrant community of academics, research professionals and students at Tyndall National Institute and UCC and will have access to world-class, microfabrication, mechanical testing, and RF characterization facilities at TNI, UCC. Further information on our community and infrastructure can be found in the following websites: Advanced RF Technology Group: https://advancedrftechnologies.com/ University College Cork: https://www.ucc.ie/en/, Tyndall National Institute: .
