Connect

CONNECT is Ireland’s national research centre for Future Networks and Communications. We are jointly funded by Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) and industry. We engage with over 35 companies including large multinationals, SMEs, and start-ups. CONNECT brings together world-class expertise from ten Irish academic institutes to create a one-stop-shop for telecommunications research, development and innovation. 

Researchers from Tyndall in Cork and Dublin play leading roles in driving and contributing to the Sustainable IoT, Dependable Networks, Link Performance and Network Ecologies research areas within the Connect Centre. Connect Centre’s headquarters is in Trinity College, Dublin.

ESA Space Solutions Ireland

ESA Space Solutions Ireland is part of the largest space innovation network in the world and is hosted at Tyndall. Across ESA Member States the ESA Space Solutions network is supporting European start-ups and SMEs to develop businesses using space technology and data.​ It does this by providing funding, business and technical support to help generate successful businesses and create sustainable jobs.​

Irish Photonic Integration Centre

The Irish Photonic Integration Centre (IPIC), the SFI Centre for photonics, is hosted at Tyndall and is Ireland’s centre of excellence for research, innovation and PhD training in photonics, which today represents a 0.5 Trillion$ global industry. Photonic integration technology is the focus of this centre’s research, spanning areas from photonics theory, right through to device and system development and fabrication, enabled through in-house laboratories and semiconductor fabrication facilities at Tyndall.

Microelectronic Circuits Centre Ireland

The Microelectronic Circuits Centre Ireland (MCCI) is a Technology centre that provides high impact microelectronic research. Funded by Enterprise Ireland and IDA Ireland, the centre is hosted at Tyndall and works with global semiconductor companies to enhance their microelectronic technology developments for innovative product application enhancements. Microelectronics technology is the focus of this centre’s research, including areas such as analog, analog mixed-signal, RF, & millimetre wave circuit IC architecture and design, including the development of system level solution research demonstrators or prototypes.

VistaMilk

The VistaMilk SFI Research Centre is an agri-food, ICT, and deep-tech research institute operated in collaboration with leading Irish and multinational food and ICT companies. Funded by both SFI and the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM), VistaMilk aims to revolutionise the dairy industry through increased innovation and sustainability across the entire dairy supply chain.
