IT Support Specialist
Contract: Full Time /Fixed Term

Reporting to the Head of IT and Digital transformation, the purpose of the role will be to provide desktop support to all users and assist in the migration of endpoints from on premises to cloud managed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing desktop support, email, remote and telephone support for all users.
  • Assisting in migration of endpoints to a cloud managed solution.
  • Documenting changes of processes for end user support.
  • Hardware and Software upgrades on all related equipment.
  • Address network issues across a variety of technologies and platforms.
  • Ensuring the implementation and support of security standards, as required.
  • Support of laboratory IT hardware and software.
  • Installing, maintaining and replacing IT peripherals.
  • Providing on-going documentation of fixes and procedures for all issues.
  • Supporting Inventory Management, using the IT Asset Register.
  • Supporting Audio/Visual/IT equipment.
  • Ensure all activities are compliant with the Tyndall Quality Management system.
  • Ensure all activities are compliant with the required Health and Safety standards.
  • Carry out any additional duties as may reasonably be required within the general scope and level of the post.

 Essential Criteria

  • A minimum of a Certificate/Diploma in an appropriate IT related area.
  • Typically with 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • In depth knowledge of supported Windows client operating systems.
  • Previous experience supporting hardware and software.
  • Previously demonstrated:
    • analytical and problem-solving skills
    • documentation and communication skills
    • the ability to multi-task, work as an individual and as part of a team
    • excellent customer service skills

 Desirable Criteria

  • Understanding of cloud management of end point devices with Intune and EntraID.
  • Previous experience working in large research or higher education sectors.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory.
  • Experience with legacy/unsupported Windows client operating systems.

 Appointment may be made on the SEA Salary Scale € 39,827– € 55,116 per annum. Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
