EP-29 Post doctoral Researcher on Second generation photonic chip design DTIF project (Cornerstone process quantum core2)
Contract: Full Time/ Specified Purpose (6 months)
Tyndall National Institute at University College Cork invites applications for a Postdoctoral opportunity.
The Epitaxy and Physics of Nanostructures (EPN) group, Tyndall National Institution and University College Cork fund a Postdoc position on “Postdoc position on Second generation photonic chip design DTIF project (Cornerstone process quantum core2_QDC) “.
The Epitaxy and Physics of Nanostructures group is a well-established research team in Ireland addressing epitaxial growth of devices and quantum structures. E.g., quantum technology applications of III-V site-controlled quantum dots (see e.g. Gediminas Juska, et al. “Towards quantum dot based arrays of entangled photon emitters”, Nature Photonics 7, 527 (2013); T. H. Chung, et al. “Selective carrier injection into patterned arrays of pyramidal quantum dots for entangled photon light-emitting diodes”, Nature Photonics 10, 782 (2016)).
Moreover, EPN is partner in the DTIF project Quantum Computing in Ireland (QCoIr). In the project context, design and development of advanced SiNx photonic chips for quantum photonic applications, is required, based on the Cornerstone processes. We seek an experienced researcher, capable of continuing the implementation of photonic chip design for quantum applications (and specifically for quantum dot coupling and light processing), and address the challenges of the second generation quantum core2_QDC chip we are developing. The position will be a specified contract for six months, and will involve both the chip design, and managing the interactions with Cornerstone.
