The second Tyndall Annual Recognition Awards (TARAs) Ceremony were held on Thursday November 16th. On the day we celebrated the significant contribution, commitment and impact made by staff and postgraduate students over the last 12 months.
A total of 77 staff and postgraduates were nominated for awards across a variety of categories, recognising those in engineering, technical and professional support, postgraduate students, mentors, postdoctoral and research categories.
Winners on the day, announced by CEO William Scanlon, were:
- Education & Public Engagement/Outreach Person of the Year: Ana Cláudia Ferreira
- Postgraduate Student Research Publication of the Year: Richard Murray
- Early Postgraduate Student Poster of the Year: Joe Steele
- Later Postgraduate Student Poster of the Year: Hilmi Othman
- Early Career Researcher of the Year: Han Shao
- Experienced Researcher of the Year: Conor O’ Mahony
- Research Team of the Year: Photonics Collaboration Team
- Mentor of the Year: Daniel O’ Hare
- Support Person of the Year: Caitríona Tyndall
- Support Team of the Year: Goods In Team
- Outstanding Customer Service Person of the Year: Mai Morrissey
