The International Energy Research Centre (IERC) host a Blockchain in Energy evening series to provide a platform where national and international experts can share ideas and success stories on blockchain applications to the energy sector.
At the March event, Molly Webb, Founder and CEO of Energy Unlocked and Advisor of LO3 Energy’s Exergy Project, looked at the LO3 Energy’s Brooklyn Microgrid Project - the world's first peer to peer energy trading initiative and how the rich energy data through digitalisation can be translated into better and faster operational decisions and policy actions. Killian O’Connor, Co-founder & COO of Solo Energy also talked about Ireland’s first peer-to-peer energy trade. Blockchain scalability challenges and possible solutions for the energy sector were also presented by Sebastião Vieira who works as Technology Lead at EnelX.
The event ended with an engaging panel discussion on “Energy Digitalisation and Infrastructure Impact”.
