On 2 July 2025, the European Commission published the ‘Quantum Europe Strategy: Quantum Europe in a Changing World’, an initiative to position Europe as a global leader in quantum technologies by 2030.
In response, the European Quantum Industry Consortium (QuIC), the leading consortium representing Europe’s quantum sector, has published a comprehensive Position Paper, offering strategic recommendations to guide the implementation of the EU’s vision. The paper reflects insights from over 60 industry leaders, including a key contribution from Tyndall’s Dr Emanuele Pelucchi, Head of Epitaxy and Physics of Nanostructures.

The Position Paper contributes directly to EU policymaking and the upcoming European Quantum Act. It presents a focused, industry-led strategy to translate Europe’s quantum research into market-ready innovation, economic growth, and technological autonomy.
Dr Pelucchi commented:
This is an important moment for Europe’s quantum future. The Position Paper brings together voices from across the industry to help shape a clear and ambitious path forward. At Tyndall, we’re proud to contribute and ensure Ireland plays a meaningful role in this journey.
Tyndall remains committed to advancing Europe’s quantum ambitions through research excellence, strategic partnerships, and deep-tech innovation. For more information, access the full Position Paper here.
