A strong delegation from Tyndall will travel to New Delhi, India for the IEEE APSCON conference, taking place from 23-25 February.
The Tyndall delegation is actively participating in the conference through workshops, live demonstrations and panel discussions.

These activities showcase Tyndall’s growing influence within the international sensors and systems community, with team members contributing as organisers, chairs, speakers, panellists and competition judges throughout the three‑day event.
Two Tyndall researchers, Dr Veda Sandeep Nagaraja and Dr Han Shao, are part of the APSCON 2026 Organising Committee.
Dr Veda Sandeep Nagaraja holds several key roles:
- Publication Chair
- Coordinator of the Sensors Council Chapters Meeting
- Coordinator of the Sensorspreneur Pitch Competition
Dr Han Shao leads the organisation of this year’s Live Demo Programme, bringing real‑world innovation to the conference floor.
February 23rd:
APSCON opens with a strong Tyndall presence:
- Professor Alan O’Riordan will serve as Chair for Agri Sensors session and will deliver an invited talk.
- Professor Brendan O’Flynn will present his research paper, contributing fresh insights to the sensors community.
- Dr Han Shao takes on the role of Session Chair, guiding the morning’s technical discussions.
February 24th (Morning): Tyndall’s In‑Conference Workshop
- Tyndall’s organised In‑Conference Workshop, coordinated by Dr Han Shao, will bring together leading researchers for a deep dive into emerging sensor technologies.
- Dr James O’Callaghan, Professor Alan O’Riordan and Professor Brendan O’Flynn will each deliver technical talks.
- Professor Brendan O’Flynn joins the expert panel discussion.
- Dr Veda Sandeep Nagaraja will moderate the panel, bringing her perspective from both research and conference leadership.
This workshop spotlights Tyndall’s multidisciplinary expertise and its role in steering next‑generation sensor innovation.
February 24th (Afternoon): Live Demo & Innovation Spotlight
- Dr Han Shao, Dr Brendan O’Flynn and Dr Richard Murray will present a live demo, showcasing Tyndall’s applied research in action.
- Dr James O’Callaghan joins the judging panel for the Sensorspreneur Pitch Competition, where emerging innovators present new sensor‑based ventures.
February 25th (Morning):
- Dr. Han Shao: Track chair for Manufacturing & Automation III
- Dr. Veda Sandeep: Track chair for Agriculture and Food Tech
