Aadil Hassan

MicroNano Systems

Aadil is a PhD researcher in the 2D-MADE group at Tyndall National Institute, University College Cork. His research focuses on cryogenic current–voltage (I–V) characterisation and analysis of transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD)-based heterostructures. He also investigates the impact of grain boundary (GB) defects on the performance of TMD-based electronic devices.

Aadil completed his Bachelor’s degree in Physics at Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, India, followed by a Master’s degree in Physics from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India. He has prior research experience at CeNSE, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India as well as at the National University of Singapore (NUS). At NUS, he was involved in fabricating van der Waals and twisted-layer heterostructures and studying angle-dependent moiré lattice effects and interlayer exciton formation.
