Dr Sabir is a Senior Researcher and Science Foundation Ireland (SFI)-Pathway Programme Fellow in the Advanced Materials and Surfaces Group at Tyndall, where he pioneers the heterogeneous integration of 2D-TMDCs and ferroelectric materials for next-generation energy-efficient nanoelectronic devices. Collaborating with Dr Lynette Keeney and Dr Ian Povey, he seamlessly bridges advanced material innovations with cutting-edge device applications, leveraging his deep expertise in material synthesis and nanoscale characterization. His research links device characteristics with intrinsic and emergent properties of advanced materials, from crystal structures and phase transitions to local atomic behaviors. Before joining Tyndall in 2023, he made significant contributions to China’s National Center for Nanoscience and Technology, following the completion of his PhD in Condensed Matter Physics from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing. His impactful research has been featured in both patents and leading journals. He has achieved a number of prestigious accolades, such as the SFI-Pathway Grant (2025), UCAS Fellowship (2018), CSC Scholarship (2016), and Excellent International Graduation Award by the Chinese Ministry of Education (2021). Beyond his research, Dr Sabir is an active member of key scientific organizations, including IEEE, AVS, MSI, and serves as a reviewer for multiple high-impact journals, cementing his role at the forefront of materials science innovation.
