Dr Sahil Anchal is a postdoctoral researcher jointly affiliated with Tyndall National Institute and University College Cork, working under the supervision of Prof Padraig Cantillon-Murphy. He is a recipient of the prestigious MedTrain+ Marie Skłodowska-Curie COFUND Postdoctoral Fellowship 2024. His current research focuses on designing and developing wireless electromagnetic tracking devices for navigational diagnostics in gastrointestinal (GI) tract applications.
His core research interests lie at the intersection of medical device design, embedded systems, and applied machine learning, especially in translational and interdisciplinary domains.
He earned his MS (Research) and PhD in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, where he specialised in footstep-based biometric identification using AI algorithms. He also has hands-on experience in embedded system design, sensor interfacing, and hardware-software co-development.
