RS-01 Post doctoral Researcher – Integrated Magnetics: Design and Simulation
Contract: Full Time/Fixed Term
Established in 2004, the Tyndall National Institute is one of Europe’s leading centres in ICT research and development. It hosts over 460 researchers, engineers and support staff. It has a network of over 200 industry partners and customers worldwide. Tyndall performs breakthrough research in photonics, electronics, micro/nano-technology and smart systems to deliver innovative solutions in the communications, energy, medtech, bio-pharmaceuticals, agricultural and the environmental sectors.
Integrated Magnetics Group
The Integrated Magnetics group performs world leading research in thin film magnetic material systems, their associated processing techniques and magnetic component design. These components are appropriate for creating highly integrated power systems, capable of efficiently operating at frequencies up to 100 MHz. The magnetic components which include inductors, coupled-inductors and transformers are the basis of next generation Power-System-In-Package (PwrSiP) and Power-System-On-Chip (PwrSoC) solutions. The group’s activities have very strong commercial relevance with Research and Development partners spanning the world’s major component suppliers, silicon foundries, wafer-level assembly houses and SoC manufacturers.
The group is both industry and research focused. Consequently, high impact, high quality Journal and Conference publications are a key objective for the group.
