Bystander Intervention Week 2025

This week, Tyndall is participating in UCC’s Bystander Intervention Week 2025—an initiative focused on encouraging individuals to take action against unacceptable behaviour and contribute to creating a safer, more respectful community for everyone.

What’s Happening at Tyndall?

Tuesday, 25th February | 10:30 – 11:30am | Tyndall National Institute

Tyndall is hosting a workshop for students and staff to learn about the Bystander Intervention training and its impact. This is a great opportunity to gain insights on how we can all support each other in preventing and challenging harmful behaviour.

Additional Activities Across UCC:

  • Bystander Information Stand (UCC Student Hub Canopy | 26th February 12-2pm)

Tyndall staff and students are invited to visit the UCC Student Hub to enrol in Bystander Intervention training. Representatives from UCC departments and external partners, such as the Gardaí, SATU, and the Cork Sexual Health Centre, will also be available to share resources and answer questions.

  • Staff Insight Session (28th February | 11am-12pm | Economics Seminar Room, Aras Na Laoi)

A panel of staff will discuss the importance of Bystander Intervention training and its integration into academic and campus life.

Participation in Bystander Intervention Week is important. By engaging with the programme, we not only raise awareness but also take tangible steps toward creating a culture of respect, safety, and accountability within Tyndall and wider UCC community.
