LDT-03 Research Engineer – Smart Energy Services and Regulatory Innovation
Contract: Full Time/ Fixed Term
The International Energy Research Centre at Tyndall National Institute, University College, Cork invites applications for a Research Engineer to work within the Smart Energy Services and Regulatory Innovation (SESRI) team at IERC. This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding energy research team located in Cork, Ireland.
IERC researchers are expected to have both academic and industry experience, together with a sound understanding of the wider energy landscape beyond their area of expertise. All researchers will be expected to initiate and contribute to writing of proposals for EU and other external funding streams.
Researchers are expected to participate in full collaborative projects, particularly where special expertise can make a direct contribution and generally for quality control purposes.
The Research Engineer for the SESRI team will lead research tasks in European and National projects. The appointee will be expected to work in collaboration with the other teams within IERC. The SESRI team has a broad range of activities including the following research areas:
The SESRI team already has a number of high-profile research projects including SMARTSPIN (Smart energy services to solve the split incentive problem in the commercial rented sector) and AUDIT+ (Decarbonisation of difficult to decarbonise industries) which are funded by the EU research funding programme. The Research Engineer will report to the SESRI Team Lead.

Appointment may be made on the Senior Executive Assistant (scale B) €36,432 - €51,292 per annum. Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
