Tyndall National Institute at University College Cork invites applications for a Graduate Studies Software Developer Internship. Tyndall is a leading deep-tech European research institute and is one of Ireland’s six National Labs, specialising in both electronics and photonics. Tyndall works with industry and academia from fundamental research to applications in its core areas of electronics, communications, energy, health, agri-tech & the environment. Tyndall is home to a research community of 600 people of 48 nationalities, including over 150 postgraduate research students.
We are seeking to create a Microsoft 365 based app to improve our reporting and approvals of research student progress reviews, facilitating a new web-based interface for both students and supervisors. This will include database management, embedding timelines, capturing online forms, e-mail requests for approvals, and a management dashboard.
ROLE SUMMARY:
The Graduate Studies Software Developer Internship at Tyndall has been established to give post graduates the experience of working in a dynamic, creative and fast-paced work environment. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic developer, able to adapt and incorporate legacy databases, understand sensitive data and apply GDPR and safety rules.
Our internship will give you essential experience in creating a data management app interfacing with internal customers, IT and Graduate Studies.

We are offering a paid internship for up to 12 weeks at €250 a week, including 5 days leave, for the successful candidate. It is expected that the successful candidate will be working within Tyndall campus, in person, full-time. Alternative working arrangements can be made on a case-by-case basis.
