DP-20 Masters by Research Fellowship: New Design & Integration Techniques for 6G RF Components and RF sub-systems

The Advanced RF Technologies (ART) Group at Tyndall National Institute (TNI) and University College Cork, Cork, Ireland is inviting applications for a Masters by Research Fellowship in New Design & Integration Techniques for 6G RF Components and RF sub-systems. We are looking for highly-motivated research-oriented individual with strong background in RF circuit design, wave-propagation and antennas to work on cutting edge research in RF front-end-antenna sub-systems for the Internet of Everything (IoE). The successful candidate will pursue a MS by Research degree at University College Cork while working on a sponsored research project.
The student researcher will become a member of a diverse and vibrant community of students, research professionals and academics at TNI and UCC and will have access to world-class RF characterization, antenna measurement and manufacturing facilities at TNI and UCC. Key responsibilities
The MS student will be a member of a research team comprising MS and PhD students, and Post-doctoral research professionals. The successful candidate is expected to carry out impartial and innovative research that will result in high-impact publications (e.g, IEEE journals and conferences) and the successful completion of a graduate degree. The position will involve RF design, electromagnetic design, manufacturing, testing and integration of RF components. Progress reports, literature reviews and participation in conferences are to be expected. Participation in teaching, lab organization and education and public engagement activities.

What we offer: The fellowship will provide an 18 month-long student appointment at an annual rate of €22,000 to support the completion of a Master by Research degree at UCC with the potential to be extended to a PhD degree later on. The fellowship will also cover expenses towards University academic fees, travels to IEEE conferences to present the outcomes of the project and training opportunities.
