Delegates were also given extensive tours of Tyndall facilities with detailed explanations provided on Tyndall’s R&D and Fabrication capabilities. An exhibition to showcase some of the technology developed at Tyndall and also poster presentations by the H2020 projects presented at the workshop was also a success. Finally, participations were treated to a “Taste of Cork” cultural experience in the Porterhouse where they had the opportunity to sample some of Cork’s best local produce.

Smart Systems Integration 2017 was the International Conference and Exhibition on integration of materials, devices and systems. The conference started in 2007 as European Conference and Exhibition and has now become a leading event at international level. It serves as a communication platform for academia, research and industry to exchange know-how on smart systems integration. The conference at Cork was the 11th in the series to date with close to 300 in attendance. Professor Thomas Otto from Fraunhofer ENAS was the conference chair with support from the local chairs Dr Eric Moore, Tyndall National Institute, University College Cork and Mr Ray Speer, Analog Devices. Overall the conference which was held at the Radisson Blu hotel in Cork was a huge success, attracting a high participation of International and National representation.
