Tyndall appoints Peter Finnegan as New Ventures Manager

We’re delighted to welcome Peter Finnegan to the Tyndall commercial team in the newly created role of New Ventures Manager. This is a key appointment for delivery of our entrepreneurship and innovation objectives under Tyndall 2025. Peter will be responsible for driving Entrepreneurship and New Ventures across Tyndall, in cooperation with the research and operations centres in Tyndall, our colleagues in UCC Innovation, and our external entrepreneurship partners. He will also take up responsibility for management of the ESA BIC, bringing a unified focus to that centre’s development under Tyndall 2025.

Peter brings a wealth of experience and ability to the role. The bulk of Peter’s career has been spent in the enterprise development, enterprise promotion and corporate services arenas.

Most recently, he was the Director of Blackstone LaunchPad at UCC since its inception in 2016. Previously, he was Manager of Enterprise Ireland’s New Frontiers Programme in the Rubicon Centre and held management roles in the Irish Exporters Association, NovaUCD (University College Dublin’s Innovation and Technology Transfer Centre) and CORKBIC (part of the EBN Innovation Network).

Peter also spent a number of years in the Middle East as part of an Irish consultancy team charged with marketing and managing Bahrain International Investment Park, a landmark industrial development project and the first international class business park in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Peter is a former Chairperson of the Bahrain Irish Business Network and is a former member of the Governing Body of University College Cork.

He has attained a B.A. (Hons) and M.B.S. (Entrepreneurialism) from University College Cork and also holds a Diploma in Financial Management from the ACCA.
