Since FP5, Dr. Cian Ó Murchú has been involved in many successful proposals for EU projects from the early stages of concept development and consortium building to project execution and closure. Overall, Cian has won over €25M of competitive funding for Tyndall. More recently, he has coordinated the successful European Digital Innovation Hub proposal ENTIRE which is one of four EDIH projects funded in Ireland. He has also been in the coordinating team of the Horizon Europe projects INFRACHIP and Biosensei both kicked off in January 2024 and is a partner in the European Chips Skills Academy Erasmus+ project which started in 2023. Besides engaging with academic and industry collaborators and other research and technology organisations, Cian also participates in EC networking and consultation groups to create technology roadmaps as for example the NEREID Roadmap for Nanoelectronics and the KDT Strategic Research Agenda as Chapter Lead on Agritech. He is currently on the Board of EPoSS, the European Platform on Smart System Integration and is on the Governing Board of the CHIPS Joint Undertaking.
