ASCENT+ launches Transnational Access for the nanoelectronics research community to key European institutes - representing €2.5 billion investment

Researchers across the globe can now access leading nanotechnology and micro/nano-electronics institutes to address emerging research challenges, though this EU funded programme. This Transnational Access (TA) programme offers access & expertise at partner research sites to enhance the research and innovation path for both academic & industry researchers, all free-of-charge!

A webinar on Tuesday 2nd February 2021 @ 1500 CET will mark the launch of the TA programme.

All are welcome – please register here: https://www.ascent.network/webinars/

Giorgos Fagas (ASCENT+ Programme Lead) will officially launch the access programme during the webinar and will be joined by Dr Susana Devesa (University of Aveiro, Portugal) & Dr Martino Aldrigo (IMT-Bucharest, Romania), who both accessed the previous ASCENT programme. They will explain to attendees how their research benefitted from accessing the programme & share their experience & outcomes.

Giorgos Fagas, ASCENT+ Lead and Head of EU Programmes at Tyndall  said

“Our Transnational Access Programme has the ambition to become the powerhouse of the next era in Nanoelectronics driving demonstrations of: (i) quantum advantage using solid-state platforms; (ii) low-power, energy-efficient, highperformance computing based on disruptive devices; and (iii) increased functionality through advanced integration of a diverse range of materials and innovative technologies. ASCENT+ offers an unparalleled access opportunity to users, empowering them to respond to these new problems and to advance knowledge and technology through generating novel results and nurturing talent in their own labs.”

Access providers: Tyndall National Institute (Ireland), imec (Belgium), CEA-Leti (France), Fraunhofer Group for Microelectonics (Germany), International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (Portugal).
