Reconnecting at the 2023 Tyndall Internal Conference

Our annual internal conference allows us to pause, reflect and reconnect.

At the heart of this event is our people - our students, staff and researchers and an opportunity to showcase and share their remarkable research and societal impact.

Opened by Professor William Scanlon, CEO, the day-long event featured more than 30 speakers, delivered by our worldclass teams, from across the Institute. The talks reflected our ground-breaking deep-tech focused research and innovation, international engagement and our people, enabling our multidisciplinary research community to exchange ideas and inspire one another.

The conference provided a platform for staff, researchers and postgraduate students to share and understand the many exciting projects and work happening right across Tyndall (and beyond), including important change initiatives to enhance our culture at Tyndall.

Head of Group – Materials Modelling for Devices and Chair of this year’s Internal Conference Professor Michael Nolan commented,

"The Tyndall Internal Conference is the opportunity for everyone at Tyndall to come together to hear about all the great work in research, engineering and professional support across the institute. This year we had over 30 insightful, fascinating and inspiring presentations from across Tyndall and this made for an enjoyable and informative day for everyone. A big Thank You to the co-chairs and the organising committee for their hard work on making the day such a success."

Some highlights of these inspiring talks included Dr Emanuele Pelucchi and building a Quantum Laboratory, Julie Raulin, PhD student, emphasising how Student Chapter engagement can benefit your studies, Dr Lynette Keeney sharing memories of her research journey in developing new multiferroic materials and Maeve McGinn on our People and Culture initiatives and opportunities.
